The Denver Broncos are one of the most storied franchises in NFL history, known for their rich legacy, passionate fan base, and unforgettable championship runs. With key contributions from running back Terrell Davis, wide receiver Rod Smith, and a stout defense, the team finally shed its can’t-win-the-big-one reputation. Following Elway’s retirement, the 2000s were defined by a mix of playoff appearances and quarterback transitions. The team remained competitive under Shanahan and later under coach Mike McDaniels but lacked consistency at the quarterback position. The early 2010s saw a major resurgence with the arrival of Peyton Manning in 2012. Under his leadership, the Broncos boasted one of the most explosive offenses in NFL history. In 2013, they reached Super Bowl XLVIII but were soundly defeated by the Seattle Seahawks. However, redemption came in the 2015 season when the Broncos, led by a ferocious defense featuring Von Miller, DeMarcus Ware, and Aqib Talib, defeated the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50. This championship, achieved largely through defensive dominance, marked the franchise's third Super Bowl title and sent Manning into retirement on a high note.

Since their 2015 triumph, the Broncos have faced challenges in re-establishing consistent quarterback play. The team has seen several coaching changes and struggled to return to the postseason. However, with recent additions to their roster and the hiring of Super Bowl-winning coach Sean Payton in 2023, the organization is once again focused on rebuilding a winning culture.
